Diamond Jubilee
June 2, 2012
On Feburary 6th, 1952, Princess Elizabeth acceded to the throne as Queen Elizabeth II and was crowned the following year on June 2nd, 1953 in Westminster Abbey. This year the Queen is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee, or 60th anniversary as a monarch, only the second Diamond Jubilee to be celebrated in the country’s history.
As providers of tea to the Historic Royal Palaces, we have created a new tea in celebration that is aptly named Diamond Jubilee. It is a lovely blend of black teas with silvertip and added bergamont, but with the addition of other citrus, it stands slightly apart from a traditional Earl Grey.
Stop in the store for a taste, and raise a glass to the Queen!
