Happy February, tea drinkers! There is much to look forward to during this 2nd month of the year. As many know, February is American Heart Month (to build awareness for cardiovascular disease.) Also, the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day, is coming up! To kick off this month full of healthy hearts and love, we will be serving a flight full of antioxidants and love-inspired flavor!
We are happy to welcome back Chocolate in Chelsea for two Valentine’s Day events coming up at our shop. If you haven’t received our newsletter, following the flight you can see the dates and times of when Cathy Selin, chocolatier, will be adding some sweetness to our tasting bar.
This weekend we will be serving Love Life, Fruits d’Alsace, and Strawberry Kiwi Herbal.
What’s more uplifting than hearing the name, “Love Life?” With its name inspired by the slogan for the GMHC, this green tea blend takes strawberry, coconut, and vanilla and mixes it all with puffed rice for a unique, light flavor. 50% percent of sales of this special blend go back to the GMHC ( an organization fighting to end the AIDS epidemic and uplift the lives of all affected.)
Fruits d’Alsace is a dessert tea that was inspired by the Alsatian cuisine of Chef Jean Joho. The fruits from that region of France including apricots, cherries, and plums are blended with black tea to create a tart but sweet brew. Those who drink our Paris tea tend to take a liking to this one!
Taking dried strawberries and kiwis, hibiscus, and rosehips and mixing them all together creates this Fruit Tea, Strawberry-Kiwi. A strong flavor, this herbal brews a beautiful red color (our inspiration for American Heart Month!) Over ice, this fruit tea is fantastic, but is also a nighttime favorite when brewed hot.
