Fanciest Formosa Oolong

This is another great oolong. The plant protects itself from attack by creating a compound that has a great peachy aroma, maybe better than any other oolong. It is absolutely delicious. Mike saw the plants on the defensive on his last trip, and it was fascinating for a teaman.

Our Review
This tea is made in northern Taiwan and is twisted (as opposed to the balled style.) It is done around June, later than other oolongs. The growers allow a leaf hopper (Jacobiasca formosana) to attack the tea leaves. The plants release a compound in self-defense that we find deliciously similar in flavor to peaches.

Tastes like Formosa Oolong
Average Review:

I agree with the reviewer who said that Fanciest Formosa Oolong tastes just like Formosa Oolong. They are both delicious (my favorite tea) but it's definitely not worth the extra to buy the Fanciest Formosa when the Formosa is just as good.

Great Strong Oolong
Average Review:

When I first tried this, I was told that the regular Formosa is just as good and in all honesty, that person was right. This is a great tea, but not worth the price unless your purchasing to mix with another Oolong (which I personally enjoy doing). I would say that this is a strong tea, not so much packed with fruity flavor as it is packed with Oolong flavor :)

Missing the typical peachy oolong aroma
Average Review:

I was expecting to get the typical peachy oolong aroma from this tea. You really have to look for it to find it.

A great non-grassy green tea
Average Review:

I wanted to try this because the description said it had a peachy flavor. I'm not a big green tea drinker because the teas I've tasted are a bit too grassy for me--it's like I've poured water over grass clippings. This tea is not like that at all; in fact, I think I would describe it as having a nutty flavor, rather than fruity, but that's my opinion. I really like this tea, and I'm drinking it straight from the pot -- no sweetener. So if you want to try drinking more green tea for the health benefits, but haven't liked other green teas you may have tried, it's worth the $2 to try a sample pouch of this. I think you will enjoy it!

The more natural production makes this tea well worth having
Average Review:

A glance at the dry leaves will tell you you are in for something special. The aroma is full of intoxicating fruit and floral notes, and the taste is full of flowers, fruit, warmth and sweetness. I would almost regret finishing my cup, if it did not infuse multiple times so well. If you like oolongs, do yourself a favor and try this tea.
