Our Review
Kagoshima is the southern port of the southern Japanese island of Kyushu. Spring springs earlier in Kagoshima than in the northern tea regions. The first fresh teas are from this area. The tea fields have been flattened and straightened, so that large tractors may be used to harvest the tea. Sometimes quantity is more important than quality in teas from Kyushu. Our friend Tsuyoshi looks for the best teas from the region. Included in the blend is Asatsuyu, which is called a natural gyokuro because of its mellow sweetness.

Kagoshima
Average Review:

The smaller pieces escape the tea infuser but most will sink to the bottom (or I just drink them). The package was separately sealed in foil inside the tin. The leaves appear to be high quality and are very fresh. I can smell the spinach aroma most. Different flavor than other green teas I have had but in a good way. It was good with skim milk, too.

Delicious over ice
Average Review:

I ordered this on a whim the first time and let me tell you I was not sorry. This tea is delicious if brewed at about 160 for about 2 and a half minutes and it's fantastic over ice. Infuse in a bag to cut down on all of the ultra fine sediment that falls through the standard mesh infuser. Best part is that you can get up to 5 infusions out of one basket full.

I have searched high and low for a green tea which is comparable to this one and I haven't found one yet. It is bright green when brewed and very addictive. I look forward to my morning ritual of brewing this tea every day.

rich full body

In my opinion this Kagoshima is one of the best green teas I've ever had. Beautiful ocean smell and seaweed and vegetal flavor. The way I brew it a full 3 minutes at 170Fit has a full body and beautiful fluorescent green color.

Complex
Average Review:

This is another great tasting Sencha from Harney & Sons. It is quite assertive while at the same time has a pretty complex taste. I can taste smooth nuances of Nori Seaweed and also at times hints of walnuts. I find that 1 tsp. can usually make around 10 ounces of tea. I also found that brewing it for no more than 1 minute makes for the best taste but you can experiment.
