Kenya Milima

One of Africa's most elegant teas. The teas have golden tips and are reminiscent of fine Assams. The tea is light in body and is a mellow brew.

Our Review
Milima is Swahili for "In a high place". The tea plants that produce this tea grow at more than six thousand feet above sea level in the Kenyan Highlands. The leaves take on lovely flavors in the cool air and rocky soil. Unlike most teas in Africa, Milima is produced in the Orthodox method, so the leaves look like most of our other teas. Milima has led the revolution in Africa of making tea in the Orthodox method. We now offer a few choices of African teas, unlike five years ago.

Just your average cup
Average Review:

If you like the standard cup of black tea, Kenya Milima is the tea to purchase. It has a slightly smoking taste that is balanced well with milk and sugar.

Super smooth
Average Review:

This tea has NONE of the bitterness associated with black teas, its smooth rich and delicious, add just a touch of sugar and its ready to go. Defiantly a top 10 pick for me. Don't let that throw you off I have a large selection.

Strong and Super-Smooth
Average Review:

I'm mostly a green tea and oolong drinker, but I like black teas in the morning or when the weather is cold. This is one of the best black teas I have ever tried: It has an assertive flavor and deep color, but unlike most other strong black teas, this one is astoundingly smooth. In flavor, I find it a bit more like a Ceylon than an Assam, but I like it better than any black tea I've tried from either of those regions.

True Kenyan Tea
Average Review:

Milima tea in Kenya has a distinctive flavor and aroma that are rarely captured in the Kenyan tea that is imported to the US. This Kenya Milima tea is perfect! Very exited to find this product in the Harney catalogue and appreciate the company's decision to support higher end African tea producers.

Oh my God this is good tea!
Average Review:

That's what me and my mother kept saying when we drank this for the first time. Absolutely incredible tea that makes you stop in your tracks to appreciate it. A light but very flavorful tea, it's good both with milk and without. It's one of the few teas I enjoy with sweetener only, no milk needed. Not sure how further to describe it, only that it's heavenly stuff.

Janet

superb new flavor
Average Review:

This tea was a wonderful surprise. It has a very distinct, fresh flavor. I do suggest, however, to monitor quantity to achieve the right 'tones'.
