About Luan Guapian

Dry Leaves The leaves are a vivid green that is unlike most other spring teas tea from China. In fact, it is similar in color to shade grown teas from Japan. The leaves are medium in size and twisted unto themselves. Also unlike other Chinese spring teas, there is no tip (bud); they remove it. This helps give the it brothiness that we find so satisfying.
Liquor The color is a medium green, much darker than most other spring teas from China.
Aroma The aroma is very vegetal like fresh lima beans with little roasted flavors found in other Chinese teas.
Caffeine Level Caffeinated
Body Luan Guipian is medium bodied for a green tea. There are lots of amino acids in the larger leaves, and tips to lighten the body.
Flavors This is a mellow tea, maybe because the elevated levels of amino acids react with your brain. Also the vegetal flavors are reminiscent of fresh lima beans, and little roasted flavors continue your enjoyment.
Brewing Time 2 to 3 minutes
Brewing Temperature 175°
Our Review
Luan Guipian has been considered one of the best teas of China. It is very different than other greens, and maybe that is why it is appreciated. If you examine the tea, it is one of the most Japanese of the teas from China. Its dark color, lack of tip, and lack of roast flavors make it resemble a fine Sencha from Uji, Japan.
