Malachi McCormick

A tea blended in honor of Malachi McCormick, the tea author of Irish blood. His handmade book "A Decent Cup of Tea" is small, but speaks volumes concerning the difficulty in finding well-prepared tea in hotels.

Our Review
In the 1980's John Harney was at the barricades of the tea revolution. When Malachi McCormick hand published (on his tiny press) A Decent Cup of Tea, John fell in with this fellow traveler. Together they did a few tea projects; one was this tea. It has been described as 'a pure and simple tea that is unpretentious and affordable'.

Indeed a decent cup of tea
Average Review:

This is a very dark brew with an odd aroma I can’t quite place. The flavor is straight-forward and quite good. I can taste the Assam and the Keemun. This is a full-bodied blend and goes well with cream and sugar. For folks who just want a decent cup of tea, this one is perfect.

A well-rounded cup

As someone else on here wrote, it IS like a favorite sweater... Gives you that warm, cozy feeling - even on the chilliest afternoon. Perfectly comforting.

Good Stuff!
Average Review:

Having borrowed and read McCormick's charming manifesto A Decent Cup of Tea from the public library, I think Harney & Sons has delivered what McCormick asks for: a pure and simple tea that is unpretentious and affordable. It has a hearty, full flavor but also tastes crisp and light. Aroma is earthy and toasted. Don't miss out on this.

Amazing
Average Review:

This is it. This is the best black tea blend in the world. I have had them all, and this is the one I keep coming back to. It stands out even among the rest of Harney's superb offerings.

This is a good, steady tea. You can enjoy it regardless of caprices of mood or weather. The flavour is warm and cozy, smooth and comfortable. Kind of like a favourite sweater ...

My Favorite Black Tea!
Average Review:

I first tried this tea because the name tickled me. Now, when I want an uncomplicated black tea to be consumed without milk or sweetener, this ultra smooth blend is the first one I reach for. It is far more than simply a decent cup of tea.
