Master's Mark Sencha

The Japanese palate is well attuned to subtlely. Senchas have many similar characteristics of steamed vegetal flavors, but there can be significant differences. Scent of Mountain or Matsuda's Sencha are very aromatic, however this one is very delicate. That is what the judges liked when they gave it an award as a great tea.

About Master's Mark Sencha

Dry Leaves The leaves are small but more complete than most senchas. That is because this award winning tea was made from young leaves that had been handpicked (very rare in Japan.)
Liquor Being from young leaves that have been hand picked, the liquor is pale green.
Aroma This sencha is more delicate and subtle than most. The vegetal notes are lighter and more haunting.

Our Review
Before the main tea season gets into full gear, master tea makers prepare for the tea contests later in the year. They gather the best young tea leaves by hand, so that they retain the great qualities of amino acids and the highest amount EGCG antioxidants. These are carefully processed and then stored until the contest in September. This one did very well and that is why it is called Master's Mark. It is an honor to offer this special sencha.
