Stanley’s Blend is John Harney’s pick because Stanley Mason was his mentor. “Before learning from him, tea was just a nice drink. He showed me how to make great teas and also taught me the traditions of tea. What he gave to me, I passed on down to my sons. Please enjoy this simple blend of Assam and Darjeeling. It has body from the Assam and a little zing from the Darjeeling.”
If only Stanley could see us now! Stanley Mason was a kindly Englishman sent over to the States to help us former colonists drink better tea. Later, in his retirement from the corporate tea world, he started a small tea company which is the predecessor company to Harney & Sons. Stanley, taught John Harney, our Master Tea Blender and Founder, everything he knew about tea. That is why we do traditional English teas.So it is with great pleasure, that we announce that we are the tea suppliers to the hotel that won the UK Tea Council’s Top Tea Place for 2007. Yes, we are the Dorchester Hotel’s tea partner and they won the prestigious Top London Afternoon Tea Award. We supply them with great teas, some customized just for them, as well as expert training. Of course the Dorchester Hotel must do a great job for each and every guest. And they do. We are proud to assist them.It is a pleasure to return the favor of great teas to Stanley Mason’s homeland.
