All of our teas are gluten-free with one possible exception. The Soba [roasted buckwheat] comes from a supplier that processes gluten products so it may contain small traces.
Is there a difference between your Hot Cinnamon Spice tea and your Hot Cinnamon Sunset tea?
Hot Cinnamon Spice, Hot Cinnamon Sunset, and Hot Cinnamon Spice/Sunset are all the exact same tea. It is the same recipe we've used for years and it has not changed. The only time that they should taste different is if you're comparing loose tea & sachets to the teabags. The loose tea and sachets will always be a higher quality tea, with better flavor, than the teabags.
What is the difference between sachets and teabags?
Sachets are a higher-end teabag. They allow us to use loose-leaf quality tea with the convenience of a teabag. They are designed to brew 12oz each and, along with loose tea, will have the best flavor. Teabags use a broken-grade tea, still of the highest quality, and brew 6-8oz each. More information can also be found here.
What do the Briskness, Body & Aroma Ratings refer to on your teas?
Briskness, also known as astringency, refers to a tea's ability to make your mouth pucker. Some astringency makes tea brisk & desirable (like white wine). Too much briskness can be a problem, but may be reduced by reducing the brewing time.
Body refers to whether or not a tea feels thick in the mouth such as Assam or light such as a white tea. Sometimes this body comes from dissolved solids from the leaves like the Assam, and sometimes it is from all the amino acids like Ichiban Sencha.
Aroma refers to whether or not the tea has a pleasant smell, often the most prized part of tea. That makes sense, since humans can smell much better than we can taste. Sometimes the pleasant smell is teased out of the tea leaf by a skilled tea maker, sometimes it is flavor blended in here by our blenders.
