The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) is a
volunteer-based organization dedicated to the
preservation and management of Appalachian
Trail (A.T.). The A.T. is about 2,180 miles in
length ranging from Maine to Georgia, making it one of the longest, continuous marked footpaths
in the world. The ATC’s mission is to preserve and manage the Appalachian Trail – ensuring
that its vast natural beauty and priceless cultural heritage can be shared and enjoyed
today, tomorrow, and for centuries to come.

Harney & Sons is proud to support the efforts of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. The A.T.
passes through Salisbury, Connecticut, the hometown of the Harney family and many of our
employees as well. We're lucky to have such a treasure right in our backyards (for some of us, quite literally!) Michael fondly recalls many summers spent hiking the A.T. through The
Presidentials in New Hampshire on the weekends, as part of summer training for Cross Country Ski Racing.. Had he been even more ambitious, he could have hiked straight
back to Salisbury, CT on the trail.
