This lovely tea was made from the Mei Zhan tea plant in Songxi, Fujian. We do get Golden Monkey from Songxi, but this is a different tea plant. Most times, an oolong is made from this plant, but here the tea maker fully oxidized the big leaves. This makes for a delicious black tea that is complex and enduring. One to savor!
