It was maybe 25 years ago that I decided to make a blend in honor of this day. The year before, we had made our first chocolate flavored tea. My dad, and our Founder, John Harney thought it was a bad idea. He thought we should drink the tea in the old fashioned way: strong black tea with milk & sugar. However, I decided to try.
When I ran a French restaurant in Chicago back in the 1980’s, Valentine’s Day was always an exciting day. We would give every woman a red rose when they came into the café, and we would sell many chocolate desserts. So when creating this blend, I thought, "Lets combine rose petals and chocolate". Thus our Valentine’s Blend was born.
