A wonderful green tea with a rich full taste and very oily texture.
I wish I had received correct brewing instructions from Harney and Sons. I tried to brew it like a sencha which made it come out bitter. A quick Google searh corrected that (twice the tea leaves, have the temperature, and a third of the time).
This tea is delicious! Great mouth feel and none of the astringent or grass of sencha. I could drink this every day but the price holds me back. I highly recommend this tea!
Let me start out by saying that this is not a bad tea. It actually reminds me of some rather expensive oolongs. However, As a sencha drinker, I decided to give this a try. I currently stock Scent of Mountain, Japanese, and my favorite Ichiban. I have not had a lot of exposure to Gyokuro so I decided to give this a try. It is very similiar to an Iron Goddess oolong in that it has a lot of body but not a lot of flavor. The flavor that it has is good but there is just not enough of it when compared to a more punchy sencha.
I am not a regular gyokuro drinker so I may not be the best person to write a review but I will stick to my oolongs if I want this style of tea.
