I';ve been out of this tea for a couple of months (live just over the border in Mass.) and am truly jonesing for it! Will be heading to millerton in the next week. There's the crazy expensive one that I've sampled in the shop, but the basic one is just as good ( at least you don't freak out in the car on the way home b/c you spent so much cash). Easy to do at Harney's , but it's so worth it!
I drink this tea most days and have brewed it in a vareity of ways. My favorite so far is with the tasting cup they sell at Harney's shops (I don't have a Yixing pot). It's so good that I'm eager to try the real thing (like their Meijaiwu), but that might have to wait for a special occasion. Definitely one of the better not-quite-Longjing's available.
Wow, oh, WOW! I am blessed to have very sensitive taste buds, and I must say this tea pleases them all. When first pouring the water over the leaves, the wafting aroma greets my nose with the incredible scent of bok choy. From there I patiently wait for that first sip. It is not as delicate of a brew as the Japanese Sencha, but finding the correct brewing temperature and time to extract the amazing flavors was a slight process for me since I don't have a kettle with a temp. reader, but it was most certainly worth every attempt for the future of my tea drinking. I don't give five stars for much of anything when reviewing- I'm not pretentious- I just reserve it for those things truly warranting it and Harney & Sons Lung Ching is a FIVE (5) STAR Product!
