Our Review
This is the green tea that many of us and our parents grew up with, so many of us crave its roasted and assertive flavors. It is made from the tougher leaves that are fixed green and then fired for an extended period in a hot rotating oven.

Chun Mee

When John Harney started in the tea trade over 30 years ago, there were just two green tea offerings from China: Gunpowder and Chun Mee. Therefore, many people are already very familiar with and enjoy the charred, sharp flavor.

Wonderful interesting tea Review by Keith
Average Review:
I infuse this 4 times (though # 4 is a bit weak) for 2 minutes nad 2 1/2 minutes for the later infusions. I get a slight smokey quality from #2 &3 but #1 actually tastes of strawberries. I never get any bitterness unless I forget and leave it steep too long (although #3 or $ could go longer without any problems). I get less vegetal character from this than other teas but would agree with the surprising sense of full body in this green. Every cup is different in a steeping cycle. May be one of my new favorites (Posted on 4/10/14)

Very good tea at an excellent value Review by Thomas
Average Review:
I found that 2 1/2 minutes was the best steep time to get full flavor without bitterness, and increased by 30 seconds for each following steep. This tea has a spot in my cupboard. (Posted on 4/18/13)

Great Green Review by Benjamin
Average Review:
This is a fantastic green tea, Tastes just like traditional green tea but noticeably higher quality. Be sure to steep it for slightly less than the recommendation. (Posted on 12/2/12)

5 stars for value Review by Anonymous
Average Review:
I gave this tea 5 stars for value / taste. You can find better green tea, but I doubt that you can find it close to this price. This is a great all day tea with a pleasant plum aroma. It is brisk and so you have to be careful with brew times. One to two minutes is all that is required at 180 degF 85 degC. The recommended three minutes makes for a bitter cup of tea. The caffeine in this tea is more than other green teas I have tried. If that bothers you a preliminary rinse with hot water is advised. This tea leaves the palate with a pleasantly cleansed effect. Find the right steeping time. Review by Brad
Average Review:
I had to experiment a little to find the right steeping time. Too much time made tea too bitter, after a few tries I found the right time for the perfect cup! Sometimes less is more! (Posted on 12/7/10)
