Our Review
English Breakfast Tea was never designed or formulated all those years ago. Rather, teas were chosen that were plentiful and not too expensive, and that would taste good with milk and sugar. Something an English person would enjoy at the start of a busy day. So in the early 1800s, that tea would have been a black tea from China, and this is where we take our inspiration. Later on, many Brits drank the brisker teas from the British colonies of India and Ceylon. After the Second World War, when the colonies became independent, the source of English Breakfast for the British became Africa. We do have some blends that are inspired by these regions, however this English Breakfast, like the original, is Chinese black tea.

English Breakfast

There are many versions of this tea. Our English Breakfast has an ancient pedigree. Researchers have traced its heritage back to the black tea the English drank regularly in the 1800's. It is, simply, China Black - 100% Keemun. A simple way to start your hectic day! Our 50ct box of English Breakfast tea is Kosher, and is caffeinated.

Average Review:
I first tried this tea from a sample I found in my tea drawer. I have never heard of Harney's and Son's before and when I brewed it, ooooohhh boy. Was I in for a ride!
To make it short and simple, I have not found a tea that top's Harney's and Son's! (Posted on 3/10/15)

Delightful Tea Review by Bart
Average Review:
This is the only 100% Keemun in tea bags that I've found. This is tea, as I imagine it was experienced, before CTC processing and blending got started. What a delight! Also, it has a little less caffeine than most Indian teas, but with a delightful flavor that comes through even with a dash of milk. I deeply appreciate your making this available. fantastic. Review by Alejandro
Average Review:
A die-hard coffee drinker for 29 years, I became curious about breakfast tea after working with some Irish guys for a couple months. This is the tea that really converted me and now I start every morning with it. Makes Barry's taste like mud - great flavors while still providing plenty of kick through milk and sugar. Harney is my go-to now. (Posted on 3/4/14)

This tea is very good. I've tried a lot of English Breakfast teas and they start to taste the same, but this tea is soooo good. It stands out in a crowd and is always the English Breakfast tea you will come back too. (Posted on 2/3/14)

Just about perfect Review by Harold G
Average Review:
I learned to appreciate English Breakfast tea when I was living in Scotland in the '70s; good tea was available in the supermarket there. Here in America, we are not so fortunate -- it took me nearly 30 years to find a good English Breakfast on this side of the Atlantic. This is it!
Full flavored, as strong as you want it to be (I brew it for just three minutes to keep the bitterness down), and good with milk and sugar, it is one of the three teas in my morning rotation (the other's are Harney's Apricot Tea, and Harney's Holiday Tea). A cup is just right to get me on the right track for the day. Good show! (Posted on 1/4/14)
