Our Review
The Harneys have been out of Ireland for sometime, so our Irish Breakfast is an older version. This tea recalls a time when the teas came from Assam, not Africa; and were small broken leaves, not CTC pellets. So this is a simple tea that can handle milk and sugar well.

Irish Breakfast

Our Irish Breakfast tea is 100% Assam, and like most traditional Irish blends, this is a great way to begin your morning. It tastes great solo, or takes milk and sugar well. In contrast to other versions of Irish Breakfast tea, you could say ours is a little more sophisticated. Kosher. Enjoy it in a selection of loose tea sizes, or our convenient box of 20 tea bags. You may also want to try our Organic Assam Wrapped Tea Sachets.

A Lovely Breakfast (or Anytime) Tea Review by Tim
Average Review:
This is a lovely (my Irish friends would say "brilliant") black tea. It is made of broken leaves and the liqour is a caramelly brown. A nice level of astringency and light, dry finish without causing a pucker (even without milk and sugar). Aroma is pleasant and similar to other black teas. Flavor is smooth and malty. Overall, a very nice black tea. (Posted on 4/4/16)

Smooth and malty Review by Katrina
Average Review:
This is the tea that turned me into a Harney customer for life. I was offered a cup as a guest, and immediately fell in love with this smooth and malty tea. If you're a fan of full-bodied teas that aren't too astringent, and are absolute perfection with milk and honey, this is it. It is now a staple in my house, ordered by the pound! (Posted on 3/11/16)

A wonderful breakfast tea Review by Brian
Average Review:
This is my first choice for a breakfast tea, and God knows I've tried many: full-bodied, lovely deep flavor, not as astringent as Scottish Morn, takes to milk and sugar beautifully. Life would be barely worth living without a pot of this each morning! (Posted on 7/25/15)

Very nice! Review by JLG

This is one of the nicest Irish breakfast teas I've found. Full bodied, dark, great either straight or with cream. It's the Guinness of Irish breakfast teas. (Posted on 6/30/15)

Tea, the way tea is meant to be. Review by Eric
Average Review:
Harney’s Irish Breakfast Tea is a fine black tea. It’s not too strong. It’s not too weak. It’s not too floral, but has plenty of flavor. The color is good, not muddy looking. You can drink it with milk and sugar, or you can drink it plain, like me. Steeped for 5 minutes with boiling water, you can’t go wrong. Drink this tea for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Harney’s Irish Breakfast Tea is the perfect tea for any time of day. If you’re looking for an all around black tea, for everything from daily drinking, serving company, or even making iced tea, look no further. Harney’s Irish Breakfast Tea is tea the way tea is meant to be. (Posted on 5/6/15)

Exactly the tea you need for a morning on the moors Review by Jess
Average Review:
There are moors in Ireland, right? Or maybe bogs. Well, there are certainly fields and sheep and other reasons to get up early and this is the tea for it. Strong, heady, delicious! I can't start my day without it. Now, where are those sheep? (Posted on 1/3/14)

Smooth and rich Review by Jaq
Average Review:
A malty, smooth, and rich breakfast tea. Not at all astringent and perfect to drink plain (without cream and sugar). (Posted on 11/4/13)
