Our Review
Assam is located on both sides of the Bramaputra River in India. This estate is located on the northern side of the river. It is hot and moist, ideal conditions for insects. Organic gardens are rare in Assam. The teas generally do have the golden tips found on the best Assams. Without tips, the sweet honey flavors are missing.

Organic Assam

A rich tea with a sweet honey flavor. Certified Organic.

Smooth, basic tea Review by Monipenny
Average Review:
This is a very basic, brisk tea. I like it because it's a bit easier on my stomach first thing in the morning but gives me a lift. Good for an afternoon pick-up as well. (Posted on 4/8/14)

This tea has good body, a nice smooth, rich flavor, and little bitterness. I like it as an afternoon tea with a little milk (Posted on 1/30/14)

Maybe this tea is worth the price, which is pretty low, but really, 5 stars? I am struggling to give it 3. No real distinctive flavor, easily overbrews at 3.5 minutes. Pay the extra price and buy the Mangalam. (Posted on 5/17/13)

Best tea and best value Review by Albert
Average Review:
I have had a standing order of Organic Assam from Harney's for over 10 years, and I drink it every weekday morning for breakfast. I brew it strong for four minutes and cut it with a little milk (no sugar or honey), and it's got a great flavor with just the right amount of wake-up boost. The best thing about this tea is its body. It's very substantial, honest tea. Thanks, Harney! (Posted on 3/11/13)

My steadfast choice Review by Pamela
Average Review:
I do like to mix it up and try other Assam's, but just keep coming back for more of this tea. Knowing I will soon be settled down with the morning newspaper and a pot of Organic Assam makes getting out of bed just fine. It's tasty, and just a truly delicious cuppa. (Posted on 2/28/13)

Excellent tea. A person had some sent t oher at work from her son in Japan. She didn't like it & knew I was a tea drinker. Loved it & drank the whole box. Now I have to order my own. Review by Juice

One to keep on-hand Review by Cory
Average Review:
This tea is wonderful -
full of flavor but not bitter. Wonderful without any sweetener, but
also accepts sugar or honey without being overpowered. Definitely going
to become a standard flavor to keep on hand at all times in my
cupboard. My 3-year-old asks for it by name! (Posted on 12/11/10)

My #1 Review by Natalka
Average Review:
This the first Harney and Sons tea that I was introduced to during high tea at Bellagio's Petrossian, and is still my favorite even though I've bought several Harney & Sons teas since. It is rich, malty and strong without being harsh or bitter. (Posted on 1/15/10)

A Must Buy Review by Anonymous
Average Review:
I just had this tea at a Ruths Chris Steak House and came home and had to immediately look it up on the internet. This has to be my favorite new black tea. The description says that it has a honey flavor, but I could not taste it. It has a wonderful flavor and does not have the sharp, bitter qualities of some black teas. (Posted on 9/26/09)
