Over the last century, this legume has become quite popular. First the Afrikaans noticed it and named Rooibos (redbush) then it was sold around the world as a healthy replacement to black tea. It makes a brew that looks like a black tea, but without the caffeine.
I first discovered this tea when I visited your Manhattan store. It is by far my favorite herbal tea especially with its deep but not bitter flavors. (I've been known to leave a tea bag in the cup a long time.) Sometimes I add a small amount of tonic and ice cubes for a refreshing afternoon herbal tea. Unfortunately my body will not tolerate the caffeine teas. Rooibos is a very tasty alternative. Thank you. (Posted on 11/4/13)
