The Harneys, being of Irish blood, did not offer a Scottish tea until now. Our friends at the American Scottish Foundation asked us to do two teas. Our first attempt was a strong tea. They said it was nice, but please make it a wee bit stronger.
I usually drink lighter black teas or green teas so I wasn't sure if I would like this tea. I absolutely love this tea. It has a wonderful full body, flavor, and is strong enough to wake you up in the morning. I recently had to stop drinking coffee in the morning because it hurts my stomach. This is my new replacement for coffee. It almost has a coffee like flavor to me. Now I don't miss coffee as much! As always, Harney & Sons quality is fantastic. (Posted on 11/4/15)
I originally got a sample pack of this tea to try and I liked it from the beginning. I have never added any honey or milk to it, just drank it straight. This tea has successfully gotten my through one finals week and a 12 hour drive through sage-brush country so I could see a friend of mine. Definitely sticking with this for a long time! I drink this tea naked-the tea that is-not me. No milk or sugar. Just tea. After a hard morning's work I feel like a nap so I have another cup and get on with the work. Nothing else is this good. (Posted on 12/5/14)
Now this is a good cup of tea. Nice and strong. Reminds me of Ridgways back when you could still find it in Canada, a nice and flavourful cup of brisk, strong black tea. I prefer mine black or with a drop of milk, and preferably with the spoon still standing up in it. ;) Highly recommended for those who like strong teas, or for coffee drinkers looking for something a little different in their mornings. This is in my top 10. If you want a strong tea with lots of flavor, you can't beat this one. Interesting that it looks almost like coffee grounds. It's a little brisk and for me needs a little more sugar than most but it is really good. I like it better than the Scottish Afternoon but it is good as well slightly milder in flavor. I drink at least two cups of this every morning. Helps me awaken and face the New England winters. Wonderful flavor that reminds me of the great teas I had while living in the UK. Definitely the best breakfast tea here in the US! I buy it by the pound. (Posted on 4/22/14)
