Located on the eastern slopes of Sri Lanka, the Uva section makes tea that gets your attention, because they are brisk. They are one of the few known for having wintergreen flavors. This comes from methyl salicylate that is used in the plant's self-defense system.
Dry Leaves Dark brown leaves cut into small pieces.
Liquor Red brown.
Aroma A good tea from Uva has the wintergreen aromas found in mints. This happens because of the plant cultivar and winds that dry the plant, concentrating the aromas.

surprising and delicious
Average Review:

I just tried this for the first time, from my black tea sampler. I had a fair amount of milk and sugar, and I was really surprised how brightly the minty briskness showed through. Very flavorful for not being flavored. I've never had a black tea like this, and it's very good. This would make a great gift to a tea novice; an excellent (but not a standard) introduction to distinctive black teas.

I just LOVE this tea!
Average Review:

I love almost all black teas. This one is special. It always catches me by surprise when I take that first sip. I haven't had trouble with too much bitterness. I just boil water, pour on and let it steep for 4 minutes. I drink my teas black and sweet every morning. Try a sample and see how exciting this tea can be!

Underrated and Inexpensive
Average Review:
