Amba Lemongrass

Amba Lemongrass is a caffeine-free herbal from the Amba Estate in the hills of central Sri Lanka. Amba is best known for its hand-processed teas, but the estate is as much a social experiment as a tea garden, an effort to give the men and women who work there a better living. Elvira and Mike visited in the spring of 2023 and came back with this lemongrass, grown and dried in the same careful spirit as the estate's celebrated teas. The infusion carries a medium body that gives it enough presence to drink on its own, though it pairs just as happily with a biscuit in the afternoon.
