I love the idea of adding fresh fruit! When I brew iced tea, I typically double the amount of tea used. This is because the tea will melt your ice, diluting the tea. So if you normally use 4 tea bags for a batch of hot tea, use 8 tea bags if you plan on serving iced.

Double strength is extra strong, made using twice the amount of tea leaves. The ice will dilute it to the recommended strength.

Do you have any great ice tea receipe ideas mixing Harney teas with fruit or juices? I would love to try them.

What does brew double strength – twice as much tea leaves? or twice as long?
June 14, 2018
Double-strength = twice as much dry tea per unit of water, compared to how you like your hot tea. Make sure there’s still room for it to expand; a tea ball designed for a cup won’t be big enough, but you can let the leaves be free and just strain when it’s done brewing.
(I like to overbrew mine by letting it go longer, as well, but that’s not at all proper! ;))

*more leaves, not fewer. Looks like I need more caffeine today

What do you mean by double strength, tho? Like, are we using more water or fewer leaves, here?

Nothing beats a tall refreshing glass of iced tea! I seldom ever go a day without preparing a fresh batch first thing in the morning to have ready in my fridge all day. And the flavors and options are endless!
