It’s the beginning of a new year (thank goodness!), and of course, January is always a time for resolutions and new beginnings. Weight loss, better health habits, more exercise, adopting a more positive outlook on life… all these activities and more are often picked up and dusted off every January. Perhaps this year more than most.
If one of the things you’re thinking of doing is incorporating a detox tea into your daily ritual, we couldn’t agree more. A word of caution first, however: beware of some products on the market that are packaged as detox teas that can have additives designed to help you “lose weight” or make other health promises that are not backed by the FDA or definitively proven by valid clinical studies. Some of these products can contain herbs like senna, a powerful laxative, other laxatives or medications, or extremely high doses of caffeine. These products are intended to help you experience a water weight loss, which is not loss of fat, or are designed to boost your energy to accompany a lower-calorie diet combined with an increased physical regimen of exercise.
In short: before you purchase any products marketed as detox tea that makes promises of weight loss or other outcomes that seem too good to be true, keep in mind that the best way to lose weight is the tried and true method of having a healthy, balanced diet that includes a reasonable decrease of calories along with regular exercise. And, as always, if you have underlying health conditions that require medical care, talk to your doctor before you engage in any significant type of weight loss program.
That said...incorporating teas without artificial, unapproved additives into your new year’s health regimen can have many benefits. Teas have long been known for their wellness properties, and today that’s more true than ever as we go beyond traditional teas and expand into tea and tisane blends that incorporate ingredients with amazing, all-natural benefits. While green teas have been prized for centuries for their high levels of antioxidants and all the good that comes with those, our Wellness Collection of teas are named just that for a reason. Theses teas give your determination to live a holistically healthy life a shot in the arm (to use a popular phrase in 2021).
Mind Your Body Teas & Herbs. These teas and herbal powders were created with the intention of helping you be your best self. With ingredients like avocado, turmeric, ginger, Chaga mushroom, holy basil, coconut, and more, these products can be incorporated into your day to lower inflammation, boost antioxidant levels and even assist you with getting a good night’s sleep… all of which help your body detoxify and feel healthier.
Herbal Infusions & Tisanes. Whether you’re seeking naturally caffeine-free alternatives or are into trying caffeine sourced from holly plants for a little extra oomph in your step, these brews are a special group of beverages that you can definitely feel awesome about. With ingredients like Ashwagandha root, beetroot, and ginger root, and superfoods like goji berries and avocado -- and many other all-natural ingredients -- you’ll enjoy a whole new array of flavors and helpful, healthful benefits.
Chopra Center Ayurvedic Teas. If Deepak Chopra doesn’t embody the very concept of detoxifying your life, we don’t know what does (unless it’s the Dali Lama). Get your life in balance with teas created in partnership with experts in the art of Ayurvedic medicine, an ancient practice that has been helping bring harmony to the mind, body, and soul for centuries.
Hemp Infusions. Our sister company, The Hemp Division, has done a wonderful job of expanding our line of CBD hot and cold teas, sparkling beverages, tinctures and more. We’re excited about our recent addition ofSoba, a gluten-free buckwheat elixir that is high in protein and fiber as well as a good source of manganese. Discover this unique line of all-natural CBD products and see how they can play a role in your plan to detox and live healthier.
Teas that Warm the Soul. While you’re busy getting after detoxing and taking care of your body, don’t forget your soul needs some TLC, too. So we put together a few teas to round out your holistically healthy goals.
