Description

TARDIS Tea is our answer to a familiar routine: the English Breakfast style so many of us reach for, then reach again for the milk and the sugar. We built the milk and sugar character right into the blend, so a strong black base already carries a creamy roundness and a touch of sweetness on its own. The result is a medium-bodied, gently brisk cup that drinks the way most people take their morning tea, ready the moment it is poured.

It is one of two teas we made for Doctor Who, licensed by BBC Studios, and its tin is printed as the TARDIS itself, from the Police Box signs around the lid to the lit windows and the Police Telephone sign on its doors.

Each tin contains 20 tea sachets.
Each sachet brews one 12 oz. cup of tea.

Four Decades of Tradition

In 1983, John Harney set out to make tea an everyday luxury, hand-blending his first teas in the basement of his country inn in Salisbury, Connecticut.
Three generations later, we still follow his one rule: only buy and blend teas that make us smile. Today we blend more than 300 of them from a home base in Millerton, New York, where the third generation is adding blends of its own.

The story of TARDIS Tea, Tin of 20 Sachets

Somewhere inside the TARDIS, between a library with no ceiling and a swimming pool that keeps moving, there's a kitchen. In that kitchen could be this tea. It tastes like milk and sugar were already stirred in by someone who knew just how you take it. The TARDIS always knows.

How to Enjoy It

TARDIS Tea is made to drink just as it is, with the milk and sugar already in the blend. Here is how we make it.

Water

Tea is only as good as the water it is brewed in. Use filtered water as needed.

Hot

Use one sachet for each cup of tea desired. Pour 212°F water over the tea and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the sachet. Relax and enjoy.

Common questions

What does TARDIS Tea taste like?

It is a black tea flavored with milk and sugar: a light, milky sweetness on the nose, a dark brown cup, and a medium body with a gentle briskness. It tastes the way many people take an English Breakfast style tea once the milk and sugar are in.

Does TARDIS Tea contain milk or sugar?

No. The creamy, sweet character comes from natural milk, creamy, and sugar flavors blended with the black tea. The tin is marked dairy-free and calorie-free.

Should I add milk or sugar anyway?

You can, though we built it to drink as it is. Taste it first, then adjust it to your liking.

How much caffeine is in TARDIS Tea?

As a black tea, it has about 40 to 60 mg of caffeine per cup, a moderate amount.

How do I brew TARDIS Tea?

Pour 212°F water over one sachet, steep for 5 minutes, then remove the sachet. The How to Enjoy section on this page has more detail.

Is TARDIS Tea an official Doctor Who product?

Yes. TARDIS Tea is part of the Doctor Who range from Harney & Sons, licensed by BBC Studios.
