Description

It is a pleasure again to offer Rou Gui. We love the roasted fruit flavors that come out of this oolong. The Wuyi Mountains of Fujian in China, the same location as Da Hong Pao, are the source of this tea. The cinnamon notes are naturally occurring parts of this tea plant. The Chen family, a 3rd generation family of tea makers, harvested and offered this year's crop.

Ingredients

Oolong tea.

Very good oolong

It’s a great companion to Wild Wuyi, which is my favorite, and Wuyi Da Hong Pao. It has the same earthy notes. I shall repurchase.

Light but full of complex flavors

This tea is a delightful afternoon treat. The large, rolled leaves create a light coral liquor with aromas and flavors of florals, roasted peaches, toasted almonds, and hints of green floral stems. It is complex and satisfying. I can drink an entire pot in just minutes. If I have a snack in the afternoon, such as dates and cashew, this tea tastes even more complex, with hints of smokiness and earth.

Loved it!

I like making this tea with boiling water to maximize the flavor. It's very unique and reminds me of roasted sweet Japanese potatoes. The tea color is also very pretty. I definitely recommend this tea although it is on the pricey side but oh so worth it. The leaves are also very large so it can be used for multiple steeps.

Great oolong

Darker, more fruit afternotes, not a floral oolong but I really enjoyed it
