Our Review
Mao cha is the first stage of Pu-erh, so the tea has not had a chance to ferment. That makes this tea much more energetic than some of our fully fermented, aged pu-erhs. It has some simple fruity and spicy notes that over time would become more complex and mellow.
Dry Leaves Long brown leaves with a greenish tinge.
Liquor Light brown.
Aroma Spicy and fruity.
Caffeine Level Caffeinated
Body Medium.
Flavors Apricots and spiced nectarine compote.
Brewing Time 2 to 3 minutes
Brewing Temperature 212° F

Ziyun Pu-erh Maocha

A young, greenish Puerh from Yunnan, China made in 2008. Pu-erhs are one of the only teas that are fermented and maocha means that this tea is only partially fermented.
