Are you living in the Northern Hemisphere? Are you reading this after 4:24 AM EDT on June 21, 2026? If so, get ready to celebrate, because it’s finally, officially, astronomically summer!Â
There’ll Be a Hot Time in the Old Hemisphere Tonight
Historically, people have observed the summer solstice in many different ways.
The ancient Chinese held ceremonies honoring the earth and the balance of nature, which is an admirable sentiment…although, in our part of the world, it feels like Earth Day just honored the same thing not long ago.
For some reason, the Vikings used to gather during the solstice to settle legal matters and disputes…which, besides seeming a little off-brand for Vikings, doesn’t sound very celebratory.
In Pagan Europe, people would light bonfires to strengthen the sun and ensure a good harvest. Honestly, I’m not so sure that tradition’s necessary anymore. The sun seems plenty hot already…and fertilizer is probably a more effective way of getting a good harvest.
When the old traditions aren’t working, it’s up to us to make new ones…which is why we’ve just introduced our new Williamsburg Juice Drinks!
(Not as big as a bonfire, maybe…but substantially more refreshing.)
We’re Honoring the 18th-Century with Flavors for the 21st
Before I pop the informational cap on our three new bottled teas, I should tell you about the collection they’re part of. Colonial Williamsburg, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, is the world’s largest living history museum and recreates the 18th-century capital of the Virginia colony. Back in 2020, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation asked us to collaborate on a collection of teas with them …and boy, did we ever.
You can read more about how this all went down in our old blog, Tea Time With Colonial Williamsburg Foundation…but our Colonial Williamsburg Tea Collection started with a handful of tinned teas, containing distinctive blends crafted to evoke the elegance of 18th-century America.
Recently, with summer growing closer, we noticed that our Williamsburg collection had a distinct lack of grab-and-go options…and while bottled iced teas might not have been part of daily life in 18th-century Virginia, we’re convinced they would have been, had those early colonists only been offered the option.
Meet the New Drinks!
Presenting the cool new 18th-century drinks for our 21st-century summer: Williamsburg Black Iced Tea, Williamsburg Peach Iced Tea, and Williamsburg Lemonade & Tea.
The first thing you’ll notice about them is that they’re flat-out gorgeous…like fashion accessories you can drink. As with other teas in our Colonial Williamsburg Tea Collection, the package designs were inspired by original 18th-century artwork found in Colonial Williamsburg’s archives…and patterns once found in homes, gardens, and daily life.
The second thing you notice is the taste…and we’re pleased to report that the contents of these beautiful bottles are every bit as tasteful as their packaging.
Williamsburg Black Iced Tea: Classically Cool
Our Williamsburg Black Iced Tea is a classic black iced tea. Brewed strong with organic tea leaves and sweetened with a touch of cane sugar, you’ll find it clean, crisp, and refreshing…much like the packaging’s blue-and-ivory pattern, which reflects the refined simplicity of colonial design.
Williamsburg Peach Iced Tea: Timelessly Tasteful
Our Williamsburg Peach Iced Tea leans into Southern hospitality with a sweeter touch. In a bottle that reflects the warmth and abundance of colonial gardens in bloom, notes of ripe peaches soften the briskness of black tea, creating a rounder, more indulgent sip.
Williamsburg Lemonade & Tea: Brightening Days and Rooms
Inside a bottle bearing a sunny yellow archival print, Williamsburg Lemonade & Tea offers a delicious marriage of freshly brewed black tea and lemonade. Tart citrus lifts the tea’s natural depth, resulting in a bright, crisp, thirst-quenching classic.
All You Need Now Is an Occasion
The packaging of our new Williamsburg bottled teas complements any decor…and their flavors pair perfectly with any seasonal moment. Consider this your summer to-drink list:
