Our Review
In the 1980's John Harney was at the barricades of the tea revolution. When Malachi McCormick hand published (on his tiny press) A Decent Cup of Tea, John fell in with this fellow traveler. Together they did a few tea projects; one was this tea. It has been described as 'a pure and simple tea that is unpretentious and affordable'.
Dry Leaves Simple black tea leaves.
Liquor Dark brown.
Aroma Since this is a blend of simple teas the aroma is muted malt and suggestive of cocoa.
Caffeine Level Caffeinated
Body This British Legacy Tea has a strong, simple body.
Flavors The unpretenious flavors of muted dark honey and unsweetened cocoa. It is perfectly suited for milk (and more than a splash) and sugar.
Brewing Time 4 to 5 minutes
Brewing Temperature 212° F

Malachi McCormick

A tea blended in honor of Malachi McCormick, the tea author of Irish blood. His handmade book "A Decent Cup of Tea" is small, but speaks volumes concerning the difficulty in finding well-prepared tea in hotels.

Our everyday and iced tea blend
Average Review:

My wife and I have tried many blends from the Harney's but this is our outright favorite. A couple of spoonfuls into a small for life tea pot and steep it 4 minutes with almost boiling water. I drink it black with a couple of level spoonfuls of sugar and the wife uses half and half. For us its that simple. My wife even uses this to make iced tea. Wouldn't be without it.

Not that decent after all
Average Review:

I thought this tea would be a good basic everyday cup. Turns out that it's very difficult to get the brew right; it's either too weak or undrinkably bitter. This is the first Harney's tea that disappoints.
