Details: Dikom Tea Estate has done this unique tea for the past few years. Natural sweetness in tea comes from the tips (or the buds) because the plants send extra sugars there to make more leaves. This tea is just pure golden tips, so it is lighter and sweeter than most Assams. It is lightly rolled to preserve the tips. This means that there is limited oxidation making for less briskness.
Dry Leaves: All golden tips, about 1/2 an inch long. They are coated in a fine, golden downy powder.
Liquor: Reddish peach.
Aroma: Since it is only the immature tips, the aromas are light and subtle and are of honey & roasted malt.
Caffeine Level: Caffeinated
Body: This is a light bodied black tea. There are no older leaves to add heft.
Flavors: Golden Tips Assam's flavors are caramel-buttery, with slight malt notes, and hints of tropical fruit: papaya and mango. There are none of the darker roasted flavors found in other Assams.
Brewing Time: 4 to 5 minutes
Brewing Temp: 212° Fº
