School is officially back in session.
For students, that means new classes, new coursework, and an earlier wake-up call. For parents, it means getting everyone out the door on time. And for teachers, it means full days in the classroom (followed by equally full nights at home).
Luckily, we have teas to help all three groups adjust to the rhythm of a new school year.
Supporting Parents As They Support Kids
A new school year brings plenty of responsibilities for parents, too. There are clothes to lay out, lunches to pack, breakfasts to make, and permission slips to find and sign five minutes before the bus arrives.
Fortunately, there’s tea to help you get going (and to get everyone else going, too).
Our best-selling English Breakfast Tea is a style that’s been starting mornings since the early 1800s, when it first became a British favorite. Made from 100% Chinese Keenum leaves, this simple, classic full-bodied black tea has a toasty aroma and a mellow flavor.
A similarly classic (and similarly popular) brew is our Earl Grey, which starts with black tea, lightens it with oolong, then adds natural oil of bergamot from Italy. The flavor and aroma of this medium-bodied brew both offer the style’s traditional citrus notes.
Hot Cinnamon Spice is our most popular tea. Bold and warming, it builds upon its Chinese black tea base with three types of cinnamon, orange peel, and sweet cloves. Despite its spicy sweetness, this blend contains no added sugar or sweeteners.
Looking for something just a wee bit bolder? Scottish Morn is our strongest breakfast tea, made from a blend of Assam, Ceylon, and Assam CTC (cut, tear, curl). Full-bodied and brisk, this brew is complemented by milk.
Tea, the Teachers’ Assistant
The final bell isn’t the end of a teacher’s day.
There are papers to grade, lesson plans to make, and roughly 37 different things to get ready for tomorrow.
Tea can’t make that job easy. But it can make it more pleasant.
Our Peppermint Herbal is a single-ingredient herbal infusion made solely from peppermint leaves grown in Washington State. Besides having a fresh aroma and a clean, minty taste, this caffeine-free tisane often helps to calm an overly active stomach.
Decaf Vanilla Comoro is a best-selling decaffeinated version of our Vanilla Black tea. Offering the sweet aroma and flavor of vanilla with almost no caffeine, it’s an indulgence that won’t interfere with much-needed rest.
Chocolate lovers will welcome our soothing Decaf Chocolate Tea. A decaffeinated version of our Chocolate Tea, this brew has a rich aroma, a dark brown color, and a satisfying flavor that blends rich chocolate with creamy vanilla.
Wellness in the Schools is a national nonprofit organization that partners with public schools to promote healthy eating, active play, and overall well-being. Our caffeine-free tisane (also called Wellness in the Schools, and crafted by the nonprofit’s chefs) blends pure wild honeybush leaves and kaffir lime leaves with bits of cardamom and freeze-dried strawberries. The result has a flavor like toasted sweet grains with notes of citrus and spice. Sold in tins of 20 sachets, a portion of every sale goes to benefit the nonprofit’s admirable mission.
Students’ Three Rs: Reading, ’Riting, and Relaxing
We’ve talked about parents. We’ve talked about teachers. But let’s not forget the real stars of the school year: the students.
Between classes, homework, and after-school activities, teenagers need time to unwind, too. That’s why we created a mini-collection of caffeine-free, sugar-free herbal teas made especially for teens and other younger tea drinkers.
Take Coconut Mint, a playful blend of organic lemongrass, ginger root, spearmint, and coconut. It’s fresh, creamy, and minty, with plenty of personality.
For a more floral blend, there’s Chamomile. Made entirely from Egyptian chamomile flowers, this caffeine-free herbal infusion has a light, mellow body, a floral aroma with hints of apples, and a delicate, naturally sweet flavor that’s ideal for winding down.
Vanilla Strawberry Hibiscus is a lively blend that mixes tart organic hibiscus with sweet strawberry and creamy vanilla. Organic rooibos and orange peel round things out for a fruity, refreshing cup that’s as delightful to gaze at as it is to drink.
Finally, there’s Decaf Paris. An alternative version of Paris (one of our most popular blends). Decaf Paris starts with a base of decaffeinated black tea, then adds the flavors of black currant, vanilla, caramel, and bergamot to brew a complex cup that can elevate any day.
