Fenghuang Shuixian

A high point of Mike’s trips to China is visiting the artisans high above the city of Fenghuang. He enjoys seeing how they transform the big leaves into twists of brown with hints of russet. Even more, he loves drinking this tea because of its intense peach flavor and a touch of spice.

I don't think Oolong is my tea
Average Review:

I ordered a bunch of samples and this was one of them. Oolongs are the teas I'm least familiar with, and I suppose it will stay that way. I was excited to try this tea because it had no negative reviews, and when I brewed it, it tasted bitter and I didn't find any notes of peach at all. Maybe I just got a bad batch, or more likely, Oolong isn't my tea.

Stunning!
Average Review:

This tea is expensive, but worth every penny. In fact, the price here is reasonable compared to other places. The quality is superb. I bought a 1.5 ounce tin and the smell of the dried leaves hint at the fragrant tones this tea has in spades. Once brewed, the color was a light brown with just a hint of orange. The smell is amazing and the flavor hits you right up front. There's no sneakiness to this tea's fruity punch. It's heaven in a cup! The difference between this tea and regular tea is nearly the equivalent between antifreeze and fine wine - this being on the fine wine end of the comparison. I steeped these leaves 6 times before they surrendered their last. On the 6th steep, they still had a nice color and a subtle sweetness, but not much else. This tea never became bitter. Certainly one of the finer drinks I have ever had.
